Our worship service is at 10:15 Sunday morning. They typically last until 11:30. We are quite casual in our dress with people wearing everything from jeans and t-shirts to suit coats.
We have a nursery for small children if desired, but we are also happy to have children sit with through the service and understand it take time to learn to sit still and quiet through the service. The sound of children is welcome and the occasion for many smiles across the congregation.
We enjoy singing a wide variety of music from old hymns to contemporary choruses.
We follow a covenantal pattern in our worship. We start with God calling us to worship and greeting us. In response we sing several songs, followed by a service of confession. In the service of confession God calls us into his holy presence and we are made aware of/reminded that we are sinners in need of a Savior. We respond in prayer confessing our sins. Next, we hear God’s assurance of pardon, a scripture passage laying out the gospel forgiveness available to all who repent and believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We response in song thanking God for forgiveness and his revealing it to us. Then the children (typically age 3 through grade 3) are invited to come forward for a children’s message which is the main point of the sermon. Pastor prays with the children and they may go to Children’s Worship (October through May) or return to their parents. The sermon is based on a Scripture text and is typically 20-25 minutes long. After the sermon, we have a congregational prayer, before which prayer requests are taken. This is followed by the offering. The service closes with the pastor offering a scriptural benediction (blessing from God) and then a final song.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the second Sunday of each month and we joyfully welcome true believers. If you are sorry for your sins and sincerely follow Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, you are invited to come with gladness to this table of the Lord.
